Meet ERIC WAUGH

 

 

Eric Waugh was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1963. He gained experience in the fields of graphic illustration and product design before turning to painting in 1988. As a self-taught artist he has been able to forgo many conventions and create a distinctly unique and recognizable style.

To Eric, his continued success in the international world is almost overwhelming. His paintings have been acquired by hundreds of major corporate and private collectors worldwide. The constant media attention has begun to establish the diligent artist as a pop icon.

Eric's paintings are energetic, graceful and full of dynamic tension. They exude a very positive energy, drawing the viewer into Eric's expressive vision of warmth and hope. The paintings begin as clear and detailed images in his mind, springing onto the paper or canvas effortlessly. Each piece is deeply vibrant, containing rhythmic themes of graceful forms and ethereal color.

Waugh works in two interchangeable interpretations of abstract and figurative forms. These forms are related in color and structure. He works primarily in an acrylic- based mixed media technique. Eric is always evolving his work, constantly creating new and exciting motifs.
